Call to action: Ancient cultures, new futures - Sri Lankans moving forward together
30 August 2013
Following from a landmark 2012 workshop held in Colombo, the Sri Lankan Australian diaspora is leading an innovative new campaign that seeks to involve the Australian population in helping to heal the personal, psychological and social wounds left by the nation’s recent conflict. The campaign’s goals include the broadening of Australia’s contribution beyond refugee control to help address the problems causing Sri Lankans to flee their homeland.
The projects emphasise civil society development, building of community capacity and facilitation of personal and communal grieving. They cover people of all ethnicities, religions and geographical locations in the fields of community infrastructure, health care, the arts, education, sport and livelihoods.
We ask all Australians to support the action!
